Workshop

IKER ARRUE (Spain) – Contemporary Dance and Choreographic Work

Dates: 15-19 of July

Time: 10-14h

Price: 140 €

Early bird: 130 € before the 24th of May

The main objective of the workshop is to introduce participants to the style and way of working of the choreographer Iker Arrue and to a part of the repertoire that he has developed with the company “Ai Do Project”.

Through choreographic phrases and specific exercises, participants will work both the awareness of their extremities in relation to their own center and the

perception of space, as well as the horizontal, vertical and oblique work levels in relation

to their body. Therefore, special attention will be given to shifts of weight, spirals,

off-balances and how to avoid the impact in imbalance situations so that reception is absolutely organic and beneficial for the body.

Throughout the workshop, participants will be introduced to the idea of understanding the balance between the minimal muscular effort and the multiplicity of qualities. Thus they will be able to investigate and apply these principles in the styles and forms that interest them the most.
